Available Touring Programmes

Available from now until the end of 2018, Encounters presents a touring programme of premium short films that firmly put the spotlight on the Deaf community and filmmakers, the Encounters Deaf Shorts Showcase.

The Encounters Deaf Shorts Showcase is a bold, varied programme of 8 shorts that span animation and live-action, and run from 5 to 28 mins in duration.

The shorts were programmed in partnership with Deaf filmmaker and artist David Ellington, and include the Academy Award® nominated film The Silent Child by Chris Overton, winner of the Encounters inaugural Deaf Shorts Showcase Award 2017.

Swimming in the Desert
